lyrics

i come in between all the lovers
they visit me and say goodbye to each other
embraced fading into touching fingertips
they loose each others eyes as i break their heats

they always come to me
suitcase packed and ready
and it’s my job to give them
the saddest thirty seconds of their lives
as they watch the smoke and thunder roll away

i break appart the mothers from the sons
and bring about the day he comes of age
usher in a time when things will never be the same again
she covers up her eyes to hide away her tears

if only they’d remember that in six months to a year
i’ll be bringing them back home again
but in the middle of that moment
it’s never what they see
